Preview: Vanguard Knights vs. North Tampa Christian Academy Titans

Vanguard has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Monday, Vanguard beat Seabreeze 59-49. Given Vanguard's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Seabreeze is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnardo Turner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring eight points along with six assists and six steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jandrian Smith, who scored nine points.

In what's become a running theme this season, North Tampa Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by St. John Paul II Academy on the road to the tune of 88-60. The win was familiar territory for North Tampa Christian Academy who now have three in a row.

North Tampa Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Landyn Colyer, who scored 25 points along with five steals and two blocks, and Toni Bryant, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks. Bryant is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel UDOZORH, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Vanguard's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Vanguard hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.7 points per game. However, it's not like North Tampa Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 70.3 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
