Marion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tri-Central Trojans a 7-0 shutout. Considering Marion have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Tri-Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jayme Hardwick (5), Raven Sollars, and Areanna Miller.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Tri-Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-1.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Blackford on the 27th. As for Tri-Central, they will take on Lapel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Central's defense better be ready for this one: Lapel have averaged an impressive 5.9 goals per game this season.
