Basketball Recap: Aj Trimboli Key Part of a Team Effort in Vikings Win

On Wednesday, the King Vikings had just enough and edged the Canterbury School Saints out 72-69. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aj Trimboli, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points and five assists. Trimboli's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Trimboli, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

King is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Canterbury School, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 2-1.

King will head out to challenge Greenwich Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. King knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Greenwich Country Day likes a good challenge. As for Canterbury School, they will look to defend their home court on January 17th against Westminster School at 5:45 p.m.
