Plainfield North and Plainfield South faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Tigers pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over the Cougars. 51 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Plainfield South lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Layla Lesure, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Lesure is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zahira Edwards, who went 5-for-11 en route to 15 points.

The win (which was Plainfield North's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Plainfield South, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Plainfield North and Plainfield South will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers are set to face off against their familiar foe Oswego East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Plainfield South will square off against rival Joliet West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
