Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Lincoln Prep

Benson came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Lincoln Prep, but Mattie Droeg wouldn't allow it. The Lightning managed a 35-31 victory over the Bobcats on Thursday with plenty of help from Droeg, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lincoln Prep's points.

Hayden Rendell was another key player, putting up six points along with 12 boards and seven steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Lincoln Prep and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Benson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
