The Hayfork Timberjacks will face off against the Loyalton Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hayfork's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Hayfork is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 68-0 victory over Tulelake. The Timberjacks pushed the score to 62-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Honkers had no chance of recovering from.
Levi Cavalli had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 178 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 35 yards and one TD. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Tatem Wiley was another key player, gaining 146 total yards and a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hayfork proved: they limited Tulelake to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Evan Pickett for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hayfork didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 22.7.

Hayfork didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cavalli and Mukeng Yang. Cavalli's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 22nd straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Burney kept up with Loyalton until halftime on Saturday, but afterwards: not so much. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 40-20 win. The Grizzlies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Loyalton's win came from a few key players Hayfork will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brysyn Lake, who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 54 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (120.8). Blaine Morgan helped out on the ground, rushing for 94 yards.
Loyalton pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Hayfork, their record now sits at 11-0.
Everything came up roses for Hayfork against Loyalton in their previous meeting back in October, as the squad secured a 52-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberjacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
