Basketball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

Glendale suffered their biggest loss since January 20, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Crescenta Valley Falcons and fell 88-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Nitros still had to take the loss.

Glendale lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Manalo, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Roman Ramirez, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points along with six boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Glendale was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescenta Valley only racked up ten assists.

It was another big night for Vaughn Zargarian, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 50 points for Crescenta Valley. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Zargarian has scored at least a third of Crescenta Valley's points. Michael Sahagian was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Crescenta Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

Glendale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 82-60 victory against Burbank on the 21st. Crescenta Valley has also already played their next game (against Pasadena), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
