Basketball Recap: Trinity's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Steelton-Highspire wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Trinity, they should've done a better job of containing Owen Schlager. The Trinity Shamrocks claimed a resounding 77-49 win over the Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers thanks in part to Schlager, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Smith, who posted six points and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Trinity, bringing their record for this year to 16-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.1% in those games and 29% outside of them. As for Steelton-Highspire, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Trinity will host Big Spring at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Steelton-Highspire has already played their next game (against Harrisburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
