Basketball Game Preview: McCook Bison vs. North Platte Bulldogs

McCook is 2-8 against North Platte since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The McCook Bison will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Platte Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. North Platte took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on McCook, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, McCook humbled Lexington with a 60-30 victory. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Platte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. The contest between them and Northwest didn't end well, with North Platte falling 47-33. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Vikings are ranked 45th).

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

McCook came up short against North Platte in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 43-32. Thankfully for McCook, Clancy Brown (who posted 19 points in addition to eight steals and six boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
