Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Comes Up Short

If Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons was feeling good fresh off their 35-14 takedown of Middleburgh last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights were beaten by the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs 82-24 on Wednesday. The Golden Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons will challenge Schoharie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons is facing Schoharie at the right time seeing as Schoharie is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, they will square off against Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northville's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Berne-Knox-Westerlo's offense will have their work cut out for them.
