Football Recap: George Jenkins Comes Up Short

George Jenkins fell victim to Fort Meade and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Miners, falling 29-0. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Miners from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Jayden McCutchen had an outrageously good game for Fort Meade as he threw for 195 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 91 yards on only nine carries. Those 91 rushing yards gave McCutchen a new career-high. 122 of McCutchen's passing yards were hauled in by Omari Russell.

George Jenkins' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Meade, the victory was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Jenkins will take on Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Meade, they will challenge Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
