Basketball Game Preview: Karnes City Badgers vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs

Karnes City and Nixon-Smiley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Karnes City Badgers will head out to face off against the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Karnes City is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Karnes City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to Goliad.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-39, which was the final score in Nixon-Smiley's tilt against Luling on Friday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nixon-Smiley's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Karnes City, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-14.

Everything came up roses for Karnes City against Nixon-Smiley when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 68-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Karnes City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
