Recap: Capital Prep Harbor Sharks vs. Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers
After a string of six wins, the Capital Prep Harbor Sharks's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Newark Collegiate Academy 65-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (59), Capital Prep Harbor still had to take the loss.
Several Sharks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Henderson, who scored 19 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. Henderson hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Edward Williams, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Capital Prep Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Newark Collegiate Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Capital Prep Harbor will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Varsity Opponent knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Capital Prep Harbor likes a good challenge. As for Newark Collegiate Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orange at 4:00 p.m. Orange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Newark Collegiate Academy is ranked 29th).
