Basketball Recap: Lourdes Catholic Warriors vs. St. Augustine Catholic Wolves
After flying high against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind on Thursday, Lourdes Catholic came back down to earth. The Lourdes Catholic Warriors were beaten by the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves 62-29 on Friday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 51-37.
St. Augustine Catholic found their leader in sophomore Jovanni Fernandez, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 15 boards, and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nico Martinez, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Lourdes Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
Lourdes Catholic will be playing at home against Baboquivari at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
