Softball Recap: Jefferson County Gets the Win

Jefferson County proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bentworth Bearcats, sneaking past 6-5.

Jefferson County's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bella Watson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Jefferson County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bentworth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson County will challenge Maryville at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bentworth, they will face off against Portsmouth at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
