Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Eagles vs. First Baptist Crusaders
After flying high against Prior Lake Christian back in January, Liberty Christian came back down to earth. The Liberty Christian Eagles took a 55-37 bruising from the First Baptist Crusaders on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 158th in Wisconsin, while the Crusaders are ranked 327th in Minnesota).
Leading First Baptist to victory were Caleb Lindsay and Charles Kuenster. Lindsay went 11 for 20 to rack up 22 points, while Kuenster posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Kuenster has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Anaya, who earned seven points and eight boards.
Liberty Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for First Baptist, their record is now 10-15.
Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for First Baptist, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fourth Baptist Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Fourth Baptist Christian likes a good challenge.
