Softball Recap: Redwater Takes a Loss

Redwater came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-3 to the Hooks Hornets. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Karly Jo Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Johnson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Redwater's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Hooks, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Redwater will square off against Liberty-Eylau at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hooks, they will face off against De Kalb at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. De Kalb will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Hooks surely won't give up without a fight.
