The Hiland Hawks will head out to take on the Shadyside Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hiland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Hiland's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Central Christian. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Hawks this season.

Jalyn Immel was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tori Weaver, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eloise Bickel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Hiland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Christian only posted a batting average of .059.
Meanwhile, Shadyside fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Union Local on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jets by a score of 4-3.
Like Hiland, Shadyside also got a great game from a two-way player: Ariana Saxton. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Saxton was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Saxton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isabells DeFelice, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Shadyside has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Hiland, their record now sits at 3-15.
Hiland might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Shadyside in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
