Softball Recap: Mayfield Wildcats vs. Westlake Demons
Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 13-6 walloping at the hands of the Westlake Demons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mayfield of the 12-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Mayfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angeleah Saltenis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Ellena Baghdasaryan was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Even though they lost, Mayfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.
Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Westlake, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Lakewood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight.
