Softball Recap: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Desert Hills Thunder
Snow Canyon extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-16 in the process. They fell 7-3 to the Desert Hills Thunder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Tuesday.
Alli Beckstrom was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
As for Desert Hills, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
On Desert Hills' side, Lulu West spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. West has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Riley Greene was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Payten Benson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
