Baseball Recap: Chino Valley's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River Valley, Chino Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Parker Broncs. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Broncs two weeks ago, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Jacob Boivin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Todd, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Hudson Sapko was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Chino Valley's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10-1. As for Parker, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coincidentally, Chino Valley and Parker will both be playing Tonopah Valley the next time they take the field. The Broncs will head out to face the Phoenix at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
