Basketball Recap: French Settlement Comes Up Short

French Settlement entered their matchup against Walker on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The French Settlement Lions were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the Walker Wildcats. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Walker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kadyn Green, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Green a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Arionna Patterson, who posted 11 points and three steals.

French Settlement's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4. As for Walker, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the French Settlement Lions duke it out with the East St. John Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walker, they will be taking part in a tournament against Denham Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Denham Springs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Walker surely won't give up without a fight.
