Basketball Recap: Weeki Wachee Comes Up Short

Weeki Wachee came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Central Bears and fell 64-31. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-15.

Weeki Wachee's loss came despite strong showings from Donnie BeCude and Conner Boyle. BeCude shot 46% from the field en route to 13 points and five rebounds, while Boyle posted seven points. BeCude has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season.

Braydon Prospero was a one-man wrecking crew For Central. as he went 14-for-18 on his way to 34 points and four steals. Rommy Abreau was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Weeki Wachee fell to 2-1. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Weeki Wachee and Central will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Hornets see the court they'll take on Angeline Academy of Innovation at 7:30 p.m. on December 1. As for Central, their break will end when they face Citrus at 8:00 p.m. on December 2.
