Southern Wake Academy had won 15 straight home games dating back to last season and Bryan Epperson did his part to make it 16 on Friday. The Southern Wake Academy Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chatham Charter Knights 72-36 thanks to Epperson, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 19 points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ira Wilson, who scored eight points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Chatham Charter lost, don't look at Gabe McKoy. Despite the final result, he earned 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kymani Wagner-Jatta, who had eight points.

Southern Wake Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 48.1 points. As for Chatham Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

Looking ahead, Southern Wake Academy will welcome Woods Charter at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. One thing working in Southern Wake Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Chatham Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-32 victory against River Mill on the 12th.
