Basketball Recap: Hagerman's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hagerman entered their contest against Texico on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hagerman Bobcats came up short against the Texico Wolverines, falling 73-48. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Hagerman's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Felix Chacon, who posted ten points and eight boards. Chacon has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Zamora, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and five boards.

Hagerman's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5. As for Texico, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Hagerman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-59 win against New Mexico Military Institute on the 30th. As for Texico, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-50 victory against Logan on the 30th.
