Football Recap: Specially Fit Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 40 points the game before, Specially Fit Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-8 loss at the hands of the Lake Wales Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Highlanders are ranked 38th).

A big part of Lake Wales' victory came down to the chemistry between Kingston Loydd and his top target Kaneilius Purdy. Loydd threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes while Purdy picked up 127 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Purdy's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Raeshaun Pugh made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Specially Fit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Specially Fit Academy will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Discovery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Wales, they will take on Ridge Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
