North Valleys had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-16 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Douglas Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Tigers on April 4th, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Caylee Soap was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aunnika Morrison, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Douglas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Douglas' side, Hailee Lister was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ida Martin, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

North Valleys will have a chance to go back-to-back against Douglas: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
