Baseball Recap: Tome Has No Trouble Against West Nottingham

Tome never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the West Nottingham Rams 17-0. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 14 runs or more this season.

Tristan Dunn was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Dunn was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Tome is 2-1 when Dunn posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Tome let Matt Woods and Noah Reyes run wild. Woods got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Reyes went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Reyes is becoming a predictor of Tome's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Robbie Reichlmann, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Tome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tome pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for West Nottingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Tome will head out on the road to square off against Tri-State Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. West Nottingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
