Football Recap: Bishop Grimes Cobras vs. Morrisville-Eaton Mavericks
Bishop Grimes unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Morrisville-Eaton Mavericks on Saturday, falling 44-0. The Cobras haven't had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Mason Marland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 115 yards and two TDs, while also catching one score for Morrisville-Eaton. Marland got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 81 yards. Wesley Dimperio was in the mix too, providing Morrisville-Eaton with two touchdowns.
Morrisville-Eaton pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bishop Grimes is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Thousand Islands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morrisville-Eaton, they will head out to challenge South Lewis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
