Baseball Recap: Westmont Hilltop Takes a Loss

Westmont Hilltop couldn't beat Bishop McCort on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Hilltoppers came up short against the Crushers, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crushers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Natallo Rocco made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Justin Ray was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Westmont Hilltop has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Bishop McCort, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmont Hilltop will face off against Bald Eagle Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.86 runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bishop McCort, they will take on Bishop Guilfoyle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
