Baseball Recap: Slocomb Takes a Loss

Slocomb lost against Providence Christian on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Tops came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-5. The Red Tops have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Slocomb saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Birge, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Wyatt Reeder was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Slocomb's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for Providence Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11.

While Slocomb had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
