Baseball Recap: Houlka Takes a Loss

Houlka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the New Site Royals, falling 16-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Houlka saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Bean, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Houlka's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for New Site, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7.

Coming up, Houlka will venture away from home to challenge Tupelo Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. New Site does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
