Volleyball Recap: Pawnee City Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaylee Turnbull and Ericca Gyhra

Pawnee City was the 2-1 winner over Falls City when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Pawnee City started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-19, 25-22.

Pawnee City's loss came despite strong showings from Ericca Gyhra and Kaylee Turnbull. Gyhra had 13 digs and one assist, while Turnbull had nine digs.

Falls City can attribute much of their success to Gabi Young, who had 16 digs and one assist. Bella Johansen also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Pawnee City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Falls City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Pawnee City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Southern on the 13th. As for Falls City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Auburn on the 18th.
