Soccer Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Cave Spring lost against Salem back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights came up short against the Spartans, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Cave Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Salem are ranked 41st).

Cave Spring's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Salem, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cave Spring will head out to face off against Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to square off against Blacksburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blacksburg will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Salem surely won't give up without a fight.
