Football Recap: Jackson-Olin Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Jackson-Olin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and the Gardendale Rockets were almost perfectly matched up on Tuesday, but the Mustangs suffered a 7-6 loss.

Gardendale's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Von Everrette and Harper Manning. Everrette gained 114 total yards and a touchdown while Manning threw for 138 yards and one TD.

Jackson-Olin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parker at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Gardendale, they have already played their next match, a 20-6 victory against Minor on the 23rd.
