Softball Recap: Kickapoo Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wonewoc-Center, Kickapoo was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the North Crawford Trojans. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2025 (when they won 20-2).

Kickapoo got a big performance out of Haylee Peterson, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. Peterson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorelai Young, who earned three RBI and one run.

Kickapoo's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for North Crawford, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kickapoo will head out to challenge La Farge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Crawford, they will venture away from home to square off against Wonewoc-Center at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
