Liberty is a perfect 6-0 against Independence since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Independence took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Liberty made easy work of Stockdale and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-5, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Independence lost 3-0 to Bakersfield on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered against the Drillers since August 24, 2017.

Independence was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bakersfield work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 28-26.

Despite the loss, Independence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aria Moreno had 23 digs and one assist. Moreno has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

Independence's defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9-1. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.

Liberty took their victory against Independence in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
