Basketball Recap: New London-Spicer Takes a Loss

New London-Spicer was the 73-66 winner over Dassel-Cokato when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The New London-Spicer Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 73-72 to the Dassel-Cokato Chargers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

New London-Spicer has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Dassel-Cokato, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the New London-Spicer Wildcats duke it out with the Annandale Cardinals at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Dassel-Cokato, they will head out to challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
