Football Recap: Rogue River Comes Up Short

Rogue River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 52-28 to the Gold Beach Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chieftains of the 38-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Rogue River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Gold Beach, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Rogue River will be playing at home against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chieftains will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Gold Beach, they will head out to take on Myrtle Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
