Basketball Recap: West Campus Takes a Loss

West Campus was the 51-47 winner over Burbank when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The West Campus Warriors took a hard 59-45 fall against the Burbank Titans on Friday. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Leading Burbank to victory were Michael Butcher and Cedric Sydnor. Butcher went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points and six boards, while Sydnor went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks. Butcher's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Korshawn Sanders-Thomas, who posted nine points and eight boards.

West Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Burbank, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

The future could be bright for both West Campus and Burbank: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. West Campus will try to hand Sonora their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Burbank will look to extend Nevada Union's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
