Softball Recap: Chico Comes Up Short

Chico fell victim to Alvord and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Dragons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Chico saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camdyn Marcus, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Chico's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Alvord, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will square off against Lindsay at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Chico's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lindsay has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Alvord, they will face off against Muenster at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Muenster will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Alvord surely won't give up without a fight.
