Softball Preview: Bryan Vikings vs. Shoemaker Wolves

The Bryan Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bryan has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 12.

Bryan's last matchup with Harker Heights could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Vikings came up short against the Knights, falling 17-3.

Bryan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenna Scott, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Addison Sanchez was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Shoemaker never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Killeen on Tuesday. They blew past the Kangaroos 18-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Kale Clawson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Clawson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2025.

In other batting news, Diana Samuelu-Pedro was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Shoemaker, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-9-2.
