Softball Preview: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. San Leandro Pirates
The Berkeley Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the San Leandro Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley will be strutting in after a victory while San Leandro will be coming in after a loss.
Berkeley barely beat Mt. Eden the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Monarchs on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Olive Lightfoot tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
