Recap: Poly Bears vs. Patriot Warriors
With a playoff game on the line, the Poly Bears rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 win over Patriot. The victory was nothing new for Poly as they're now sitting on five straight.
When it comes to explaining why Patriot lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Miramontes. Despite the final result, he threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns.
Poly's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Patriot, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Poly will be playing at home against Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Patriot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
