Baseball Game Preview: Los Altos Conquerors vs. South Hills Huskies

Los Altos is 2-8 against South Hills since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Conquerors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 3:30 p.m.

Los Altos fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Hills last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 4-3. The Conquerors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

For South Hills' part, Justin Romero looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Romero has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gabriel Guerrero and Aiden Mirabal did most of the damage at the plate: Guerrero scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Mirabal scored a run while going 2-for-3.

South Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Altos struck out nine times.

The victory was the third in a row for South Hills, bringing their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Los Altos, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1.
