Softball Game Preview: Glendora Tartans vs. Bonita Bearcats

The Glendora Tartans will venture away from home to take on the Bonita Bearcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Glendora and Claremont, and Glendora kept the tradition alive. The Tartans blew past the Wolfpack 7-1 on Tuesday. The Tartans haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Gianna Messick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Kennedy Bowers was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kylie Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Glendora hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 10-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Bonita waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 17-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Adrianna Mangini, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Skyy Hicks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bonita pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Glendora, their record is now 16-8.
