Basketball Game Preview: Euclid Panthers vs. Shaker Heights Red Raiders

Euclid and Shaker Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Euclid Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shaker Heights Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Euclid is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Medina on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Euclid was beaten by Medina 57-26. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-17, which was the final score in Shaker Heights' tilt against Hudson on Monday. The match marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Euclid and nudges their season record down to 4-17. As for Shaker Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Euclid was dealt a bruising 55-14 loss at the hands of Shaker Heights when the teams last played back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Euclid was down 34-11.
