Volleyball Recap: West Muskingum Takes a Loss

West Muskingum lost against Utica back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tornadoes fell 2-0 to the Redskins. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18.

Despite the loss, West Muskingum saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooke Beight had eight digs.

Leading Utica to victory were Callie Baker and Jessi Paxton. Baker had eight digs, while Paxton had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Paxton has posted since back in August of 2024.

West Muskingum's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Utica, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, West Muskingum will head out to challenge Maysville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Utica, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Johnstown-Monroe at 7:00 p.m.
