Softball Recap: Danville Has No Trouble Against Georgetown-Ridge Farm

Danville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Tuesday. The Vikings blew past the Buffaloes 15-5. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered an 11-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kendall Rannenbarger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Rannenbarger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Danville got a massive performance out of Ava Foster, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Foster posted two RBI, the most she's had since April 1st. Payton Beith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Danville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Danville's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Danville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-0 victory against Peoria on the 30th. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, they will welcome Watseka at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
