Soccer Game Preview: Saratoga vs. Hillsdale

The Saratoga Falcons will take on the Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS in a tournament on Saturday. Saratoga's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Hillsdale heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Saratoga took over last week. Saratoga won by a goal and slipped past San Mateo 3-2.

Akash Gupta and Finn Smith scored all three of Saratoga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Hillsdale earned a 3-1 victory over Santa Cruz on Saturday. Given the FIGHTING KNIGHTS's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Cardinals are ranked 576th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillsdale's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Saratoga, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Everything went Saratoga's way against Hillsdale when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as Saratoga made off with a 5-1 victory. Does Saratoga have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hillsdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
